Francisco Tomsich

Francisco Tomsich edits and co-edits books and artist’s books, and publishes since 2002 poems, short stories, essays on arts and literature, papers and translations (from English, German, French, Portuguese, Slovene and Swedish) in journals, collective books, anthologies and magazines from Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Lithuania, Mexico, Slovenia, Uruguay and U.S.A. Between 2007 and 2014 he was part of the staff of the weekly journal Brecha (Montevideo, Uruguay). Since 2014 he integrates the editorial board of the magazine MUSEO (Museum of Contemporary Art of Montevideo). He was the editor of .TXT, a Montevideo-based digital magazine of young literature from the Southern Cone and beyond (2005-2006, 2011-2012, 2017-2018). He has edited, designed and illustrated numerous books, artist’s books, photobooks and web projects and collaborates with the publishing house Malinc (Slovenia). He has also written numerous songs for musicians and composers. Since 2023 he is co-editor of Landscapes of Slovene Literature, the first online platform exclusively dedicated to the publication, research and translation of Slovene literature in Spanish. His literary works have been awarded in many occasions, including the National Prize for Literature from the Ministry of Culture of Uruguay in 2012.
